Retention Program

Retention and expansion of existing businesses is the cornerstone of GCDC's mission. We recognize the fact that 80% of a community's economic growth comes from the existing local business base and understand that it is vital that we work together to care for our existing businesses and assure they are successful doing business here.

Here are just a few of the programs that help us play an active role in support of our local businesses.

Interviews & Surveys

In order to build stronger relationships between the businesses and all of the resources available to them, GCDC partners regularly interview key existing businesses. After a business meets with a GCDC volunteer and dialogues about things such as positive trends, challenges, potential growth and development opportunities, the information is used to monitor important business trends and the general business climate, and identify referrals or assistance needed.

The most recent comprehensive Retention Survey was completed in 2007. A copy of the report can be downloaded here.

CEO Breakfasts

Twice a year, GCDC organizes CEO Breakfasts. The events allow participants to share best practices and resolve business challenges in a confidential setting. CEO Breakfasts bring together CEOs, owners, managing partners and senior operation managers representing a variety of service, professional, manufacturing and retail businesses.

CEO Breakfasts are invitation only. If you would like to attend an upcoming program, please contact us.

HR Professionals

To address the challenges associated with Human Resources, local HR professionals have formed a networking group to discuss personnel and hiring related issues and to further the expertise of professional human resources employees. GCDC provides administrative support for the initiative. Contact GCDC to learn more about this.
