Village of New Glarus

Because the community was settled by Swiss colonists over 150 years ago, the Village of New Glarus is one of Wisconsin's most unique communities. Building on its cultural roots, the community has become a popular tourist destination for visitors from across the US and the world.

Located in one of the fastest growing parts of the county, New Glarus is located in north central Green County, approximately 22 miles south of the City of Madison and 18 miles north of the City of Monroe. The community has experience steady commercial development and is currently working on a redevelopment project adjacent to its central business district. The award winning New Glarus Brewing Company, on the south edge of the Village, recently completed a multi-million dollar expansion.
