Retention and expansion of existing businesses is the cornerstone of GCDC’s mission. We recognize the fact that 80% of a community’s economic growth comes from the existing local business base and understand that it is vital that we work together to care for our existing businesses and assure they are successful doing business here.
Here are just a few of the programs that help us play an active role in support of our local businesses.
Interviews & Surveys
In order to build stronger relationships, GCDC regularly meets with partner and key existing businesses to discuss topics such as positive trends, challenges, potential growth and development opportunities. This information is used to monitor important business trends and the general business climate, and identify referrals or assistance needed.
Executive Leadership Breakfast
Each year, GCDC organizes the Executive Leadership Breakfast. The event features a keynote speaker who shares insights on a current business trend or best practices to resolve business challenges. Our annual Breakfasts bring together a variety of people in leadership positions, representing a variety of service, professional, manufacturing and retail businesses, and offer an opportunity to learn, share and network with others.
