Village of Belleville

Belleville straddles the Dane-Green county line and combines the peacefulness of a rural community with the convenience of urban services. The village is just 18 miles to Madison and 19 miles to Monroe.

The community has a vibrant economy, strong local schools and plenty of natural beauty and recreation with Lake Belle View providing a scenic backdrop.

Village of Brooklyn

The village of Brooklyn is located in far northern Green County and southern Dane County. It’s conveniently situated 27 miles from Monroe, 24 miles from Janesville and just 16 miles from Madison.

The village has maintained its small-town charm and neighborly feel. It offers excellent schools, three village parks and a community center for village residents to enjoy.

Village of Monticello

Located in the heart of Green County, Monticello is a friendly community with a long history in the area’s farming and cheesemaking history. Monticello is just nine miles to Monroe and 30 miles to Madison, and boasts strong schools and a thriving business community.

The village is a destination for recreation-seekers looking to hike and cycle the area’s trails and parks. Lake Montesian is the villlage centerpiece, offering year-round fun.

Village of New Glarus

Opportunities abound in “America’s Little Switzerland.” The village has a bustling downtown area with a distinctive Swiss feel. Numerous cultural attractions showcase the community’s heritage, while a full slate of festivals and special events attract visitors and locals alike.

A strong local economy and a multitude of recreational outlets provided by two state trails and a state park make New Glarus a vibrant and thriving community. It is located 14 miles from Monroe and 24 miles from Madison.

Village of Albany

The Sugar River sweeps through the center of the village, providing both beauty and recreation. Its small-town feel, active downtown and school system make the village a desired location.

Albany is 28 miles from Madison and 16 miles from Monroe.

City of Brodhead

The City of Brodhead is the second largest municipality in Green County. Located on the Green-Rock County line, Brodhead is located in one of the fastest growing areas of Green County. The central business district typifies the community’s rich historic significance.  The city boasts numerous avenues for recreation, including the 23-mile Sugar River State Trail, the Pearl Island Recreation Corridor, and several city parks.

Convenience is another of Brodhead’s hallmarks: The city is just 17 miles to Monroe, 20 miles to Janesville and 33 miles to Madison.

City of Monroe

The largest community in Green County, Monroe is the county seat. The downtown historic square is highlighted by the Green County Courthouse, which houses numerous county offices including Green County Development Corporation. A thriving business community is complemented by an excellent school system and technical college.

Recreation is key to quality of life in Monroe. The city maintains numerous parks, and the Badger State Trail and Cheese Country Trail are both accessible. Monroe is 37 miles to Janesville, 41 miles to Madison, and 59 miles to Dubuque, Iowa.
